Solving Ambiguity in Target Detection for BPSK-based MIMO FMCW Radar System

In a binary phase shift keying (BPSK)-based multiple-input and multiple-output (MIMO) frequency-modulated continuous wave (FMCW) radar system, real ghost targets are detected simultaneously, causing ambiguity in target detection. this paper, we define the that inevitably generated by BPSK modulation as propose method for suppressing them. The proposed suppression consists of two main steps. First, at receiving end, received signal is demodulated using specific code orthogonal to codes used modulate transmitted signals. With orthogonality between codes, only remain signal. Then, subtracting including from initially signal, information actual can be restored. We verify performance through simulations measurements. addition, estimation compared with time-division multiplexing MIMO FMCW system.
